Did you know? (medical equipment)

Hospice provides the necessary equipment/supplies, related to the terminal diagnosis, to help family caregivers confidently and safely care for their loved ones at home. After a careful assessment, the Admissions Nurse determines what medical equipment and supplies will meet the individualized needs of the patient.

The care team coordinates a seamless delivery and setup process, ensuring the patient receives the necessary equipment in a timely manner, enhancing the comfort and care of patients. In addition to delivering and setting up medical equipment, hospice services include comprehensive training for both patients and their caregivers. This training ensures that individuals are equipped with the knowledge and skills to use the provided equipment effectively. With ongoing assessment, as equipment needs change an exchange may take place, or additional equipment may be brought into the home. By empowering patients and their families through education, hospice care aims to enhance self-care capabilities, fostering a more confident and supportive caregiving environment.

By offering home medical equipment and supplies, we aim to alleviate the burden on patients and their families, promoting a sense of dignity and peace during the end-of-life journey. This personalized approach contributes to the overall wellbeing of individuals facing serious illnesses, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.
